Built for Urban Distribution

TRIDEC TD is designed for distribution transport where trailers need to operate in confined delivery locations, city streets, and small roundabouts. The system can steer the rear axle, or the two rearmost axles, of a one-, two-, or three-axle trailer.

Superior manoeuvrability in distribution transport

  • Steers the rear axle, or the two most rear axles, on 1- to 3-axle trailers
  • Steering angles 21° / 26° / 28° / 30° / 32° / 36° / 40° at the last axle
  • 21° possible with a fifth wheel unit mounting height of 135 mm
  • Easier inner-city deliveries and small roundabouts on urban roads
  • More efficient trailer use in confined spaces

Lower operating costs

  • Amount of runs due to larger vehicle
  • Time through better manoeuvrability
  • Fuel consumption
  • Tyre wear
  • Accessibility
  • Vehicle damage

Direct, play-free mechanical steering

  • Motion via the fifth wheel plate and TRIDEC steering wedge
  • Steering bar transmits movement directly to the axle mounting frame
  • Steering rod links the two rearmost axles when two axles are steered
  • Three fifth wheel versions: TD-K, TD-T, and TD-G
  • Fifth wheel loads 15 / 20 t; 10 t axle load (legally approved)
  • RDW test report per EEC R79 (no. 56210026)
  • JOST turntable with TRIDEC spline bolts — no re-tightening required
  • TRIDEC patented maintenance-free bearings on steering bar joints
