Built for Distribution and Special Trailers

The TRIDEC hydraulic HF steering system is successfully fitted into trailers for distribution transport such as fuel, milk and bulk goods, but also into runway sweepers, mobile medical centres and low-loader draw-bar trailers. The HF system steers one single kingpin axle.

Control Systems for Hydraulic Steering

Extend HS hydraulic steering with manual control options for improved manoeuvrability in confined spaces. Choose from TRITRONIC automatic alignment, compact cabled or wireless remotes, or the standard manual pump control box.

Hydraulic steering with flexible configuration

  • Motion via the fifth wheel plate and TRIDEC steering wedge
  • Two cylinders in the fifth wheel unit connected to two cylinders at the steered axle
  • Track rods steer the steering lever of the axle
  • Full trailer-design freedom, also for extendable vehicles
  • Linear or progressive fifth wheel characteristics; draw-bar versions available
  • Fifth wheel loads 15 / 20 / 26.5 t; 12 t axle load
  • RDW test report per EEC 70/311 available on request (no. 56210054)
  • JOST turntable with TRIDEC spline bolts — no re-tightening required

Comprehensive hydraulic control and easy installation

  • Stainless steel control box with tank, valves, sensors, hand pump, filters and accumulator
  • Hydraulic pipes, oil and accumulator block supplied
  • Axle-unit fits on top of or below the axle body (□120 mm, Ø127 / 133 / 146 mm)
  • Grease-free cylinder bearings and central, colour-coded hydraulic connections
  • Optional bolt-in fifth wheel unit frame for tankers
  • Mounting profiles welded into the chassis for quick installation
  • KTL-treated components, Nikrom piston rods and galvanised track rods
