The HS steering arrangement is a hydraulic system used primarily in heavy and special transport. It steers one to a maximum of four rigid axles using turntables, optionally in combination with non-steered rigid axles, and can also be used on extendable trailers and self-tracking dollies.

Hydraulic turntable steering with flexible configuration

  • Motion via the fifth wheel plate and TRIDEC steering wedge
  • Two cylinders in the fifth wheel unit connected to cylinders at the axle frame
  • Steering rods transmit motion from the rear axle to other steered axles
  • 2-beam chassis and central beam chassis versions
  • Linear or progressive fifth wheel characteristics
  • Fifth wheel loads 15 / 20 / 26.5 / 30 / 45 t; 10 t axle load (legally approved)
  • RDW test report per EEC 70/311 (no. 56210053)
  • JOST turntable with TRIDEC spline bolts — no re-tightening required
  • Optional adjustable steering wedge for non-DIN normed fifth wheels

  • Compact manual steering (MSC II) with cabled or wireless remote
  • Alignment indication at both controllers; plug-and-play angle sensors
  • 24V system; EMC and ISO7637 tested with RDW E4 certificate available
  • IP 65 (or higher) classified components
