Electronic Steering Without a Fifth-Wheel Unit

EF-S is an electro-hydraulic electronic steering system for kingpin-steered axles. Unlike mechanical and hydraulic steering systems, it does not require a fifth wheel unit — only a kingpin with integrated steering angle sensor. The sensor detects the truck's steering movement and the steer computer controls the trailer's steered axles through an electro-hydraulic system.
